T4 gene 32 protein is single-strand DNA binding protein, which is necessary for DNA replication and repair of Escherichia virus T4. It cooperatively binds and stabilizes the instantaneously formed ssDNA region, and plays an important structural role in the DNA replication process of Escherichia virus T4. This protein is also widely used for stabilizing and labeling ssDNA regions, in order to observe the structure of intracellular DNA using an electron microscope. The latest report shows that the protein can promote the digestion reaction of restriction Endonuclease, the efficiency of reverse transcription in RT-PCR, enhance the activity of T4 DNA polymerase and increase the production of PCR.
