Jinji Single-Strand Binding Protein(SSB)is a single strand DNA (ssDNA) binding protein, which is necessary for DNA replication and repair. The tetramer formed by SSB protein specifically gathers 8-16 bases, thus protecting ssDNA from nuclease degradation. In vitro experiments showed that the protein could stabilize the single strand region of DNA and relax the double strand region of DNA, thereby enhancing the activity of DNA polymerase.

2. Prevent single-strand area from forming a secondary structure within a single-strand.

3. Protect the single-strand region from being hydrolyzed by nuclease.

4. Stimulate the activity of certain enzymes.

2. The preservation solution contains 50 % glycerol.

3. The optimal reaction temperature for this protein is 37 °C, and 65 °C for 20 minutes can inactivate the protein.
