The UvsX recombinase produced by our company, derived from Escherichia virus T4, is a homologue of RecA/Rad51 family and plays an important role in the repair of double stranded DNA breaks and the restart of replication forks. The T4 UvsX recombinase can anchor onto single stranded DNA together with other recombinants and activate it to search for homologous sequences on other double stranded DNA to further complete strand substitution. The enzyme has no Nuclease activity.
